Christmas 2015

I was so excited for this Christmas I could hardly wait. Having a toddler makes everything more fun. Unfortunately two days before Christmas Sophie started getting sick. High fever, lethargic, and just plain grumpiness. A cough developed later and she still has that. We thought Christmas might be ruined when we went to my parent's house on Christmas Eve and Sophie cried at the thought of opening presents. My mom even got her a Sully from Monsters Inc stuffed doll that outright scares her. Ironically her favorite movie right now is Monsters University, I was shocked she hated it so much. Sophie did surprisingly well on Christmas Day, but still wasn't at 100%.  

She got lots of presents. Of course her favorite was not the big expensive gift from Santa, but rather the three dollar Ninja Turtle xylophone in her stocking. The winning gift came with my parents when they came over later that day. They got her a toy car that she instantly lit up for. She sat in it while we assembled it around her. It's been in the house since there's no point in taking it outside. She will sit in it and watch movies. She loves it. 

Since she was sick, she only wanted Momma. We spent lots of time snuggled up like this. 

 We got a taste of the "parental assembly required" duties with Sophie's gift.

We got both bath paints and bath colored tablets. And since baby girl loves that bath tub, especially when she is sick, we've given her a bath almost every day since Christmas.

 {Side note: we were 99% binky-free until we went to Idaho Falls. We brought it as a caution to help her sleep somewhere other than home. Unfortunately she is madly obsessed with it now and being sick doesn't help. Now that she can talk more, she asks about it incessantly. Once we get her back to healthy we face the problem of taking it away again. Ugh.}

 Daniel got this seriously awesome work-out shirt from his amazing wife. It's the best. 

 We had a fun week together. It was nice to have Daniel home. We had some friends visit, and spent time with family. We loved all over Sophie and are always reminded how great it is to be her parents. In sickness and in health, she's still the greatest.
