It finally started getting hot. Like really hot. Sophie is kind of a chicken when it comes to sprinklers so while they are fun. She barely gets wet. So I fashioned her an ultra fancy pool from a Rubbermaid tub and Daniel went out and bought a pool that evening. Those suckers are a pain to blow up but we had it up for three days and it was super fun. It has a bench in it which makes it easier for me to sit with a baby while Sophie splashes around me. We had Kira over one afternoon and Kougar heard about all the fun and came to join us. And then Sawyer came to splash another day. Looks like another hot week next week so we will pull it back out from the garage! Hooray for summer!

Emery- Four Months
Miss Emery Jane is now four months. And I LOVE babies. This baby in particular of course. Nighttime could still be better, but overall having a baby around is better than any puppy. She's the sweetest. She still hasn't rolled over, but she's much closer to rolling back to tummy than tummy to back which seems backwards. She has done an excellent job rubbing off her hair on one side of her head, leaving a fluffy little patch on top that she occasionally finds with her hands and twirls in her fingers. She gets extremely determined when trying to blow spit blows and looks very focused. And she's one drooly baby. Emery and Austin are destined to be great friends I think. Austin screams at her whenever she's around and occasionally she squeals back at him. I recorded a "conversation" between the two of them and it basically sounded like Austin was saying "huh?!" after every noise Emery made. He is generally pretty good at not attacking her--he just gets excited to see her. It's a pretty cute sight.

Koala Crate: Birds
For Christmas my mom got Sophie a subscription to Koala Crate. Each month we get a little box with all the fixings for three arts and craft projects. I love these boxes. You seriously don't even have to pull out scissors or glue. It's all in there. Each box has a theme. We've done weather with a windsock and our weather chart. We've done winter with snowflake stamps and polar bear paws. We've done traffic with toy cars and washi tape road. This last box though---was my absolute favorite. We made bird wings and a mask and Sophie ran around the backyard like a bird. It was awesome. And we now have another addition to our dress up bucket. We both have lots of fun creating new things each month.
