Daniel Week (Birthday & Father's Day)

Since we like doubling up on anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays, I officially dub June 12th-Father's Day as "Daniel Week."

Unfortunately for Daniel, he spent a good portion of June with a nasty heat rash that developed into a yeast infection covering a good portion of his body. So we didn't get any cute pictures on Father's Day, but the girls did wear matching dresses that my mom had made them. I had Sophie answer some questions about her dad on Father's Day. Then I went to re-write it neatly on another copy and she wanted to answer again. So she did it twice. Adorable answers both times.

For Daniel's birthday we just went out to lunch and to a movie. In lieu of a cake, Daniel chose to have a Perkin's pie for dessert. I feel a tradition coming on...

Family Fun Time

Ever since Emery was born (and a little before), Daniel has taken over the grocery shopping--which I love. Sophie is always his little helper and they go together. One day Sophie was so tired she fell asleep there and then started falling asleep in the car...Poor kiddo.

I've fought the urge to buy a double stroller by awkward making Emery fit in the jogging stroller while Sophie sits on the little space above the front tire. It actually works pretty well and Emery often just falls asleep in there.

Erin had an "Avengers" themed birthday and the kids got a kick out of the superhero masks.

Sophie and Kira are really great little friends and love getting to do things with just the two of them. They snuggled and watched Zootopia at our house.

Emery sure loves being held. I know just the spot up on my shoulder that gets her to relax her body and then she will scratch her fingers back and forth on my back. It's adorable.

Riverside Adventures

One sunny Saturday we wanted to play in some water, but not really venture out of town. So we headed down the river. They've made-over one side of the river with little streams. I'm not 100% sure they were intended for throwing toy trucks in to watch them float or for wading around, but we did it anyways. Sophie loved it and the small waterfalls. Then we walked a good length of the river for a treat and back to the car. That night we watched Erin and Jason's kids and Sophie had fun trying to get Austin to dance with her.
