Fourth of July

Our first Fourth in Boise, and it probably wasn't our favorite. First we drove all the way to my parents' house. Then we went to their tiny town's little parade. It was cute, short, and Sophie was mildly entertained. It was so dang hot here. So hot. Then we swam at my parents' which was amazing. Then we missed all the afternoon activities while Sophie napped. (A necessity for fireworks so we allowed it). Then we drove forty five minutes to a tiny town outside Kuna (500 people tiny). We had heard their fireworks were amazing. They had lots of delicious food vendors which was fun, and whole lot of... colorful people. We probably got there too early, but made the most of it. The fireworks finally rolled around and Sophie thought they were super cool, but then was too tired to do much else than watch. We decided to skip out early since Sophie was spent and I was glad we did. It was a traffic nightmare waiting to happen. We made it out in good time and it was a quick thirty minute drive home. We were a little homesick for Idaho Falls. We missed the river and it's amazing fireworks. Our fireworks didn't have music so it didn't feel all that patriotic. Next year we are just going back to Idaho Falls where the fourth never disappoints.
