We're Cruisin'

 Last week Little Miss finally started crawling. I say "finally" because she's been scooting backwards and sideways for over a month. We were at Daniel's parent's house and it was like she finally had enough space and she just started crawling to me. She's funny because it's still a slow crawl and often she blows raspberries while crawling so she sounds like a little jet-propelled baby. It's adorable as always.

 The other day I plopped her in a diaper box while I put laundry away in her room. She thought it was pretty sweet.

 Sophie's favorite place to crawl to is the kitchen. And the bathrooms. She still doesn't get into too much stuff, mainly just TV cords and such.

 Sophie loved some tomato soup we gave her when we out to eat.

For the Love of Fall

 I should be cleaning the kitchen, or finishing the laundry pile next to me, or fixing dinner, or maybe doing my hair or, heck, putting make up on, but instead I chose this precious naptime to gush over these pictures I just took of Sophie. She's getting big. And I want so badly to hit pause right now and keep her frozen as a little baby for just a while longer. I love everything about her. I even love when she wakes up an hour and a half after bedtime crying, just so I can go in there and hold a cuddly, sleepy baby. I decided on a spur of the moment whim to take her outside to snap these shots--I'm lucky she's cute 100% of the time. Mostly she ate the leaves, but I got a few little gems out of her.

I Spy

 My mom, Grandma Chipman, and Great-Aunt Bebe are notorious quilters. They do amazing work, and can do it amazingly fast. My mom often comes home with a whole quilt pieced together after being there for a week. While we were there it was the Dallas "Quilt Hop" which is some four hundred mile drive around the Dallas/Fort Worth area hitting up tons of quilt shops. The ladies just stopped by a few. I was so surprised when my grandma and aunt gave us this "I Spy" quilt for Sophie on our last day there. These quilts are so darn cute. Each block is cut to have a specific object. There are animals, princesses, food, characters, a Texas Flag, a Marines emblem for my grandpa, and other cute little finds. We brought it over to show our nieces and played "I Spy" with them. They really liked it. Sophie uses is as a play quilt right now, but we are learning about new things on it all the time. I'm so blessed to have such talented ladies in my life to make such memorable things for my babies.

Eight Months

 She's getting so BIG!

• We've been feeding her more and more solids. I'm hoping to increase it even more. And we're working a few finger foods.
• Sleep is...meh...after we started sleep training it was good for a week or so, then she got shots, then she got a fever, and everything went downhill quickly. I figured I wouldn't try to fix it until after Texas. And it's only been a couple days, but I feel like we are getting back on track.
• She's getting so close to crawling! She gets up on her knees and rocks back and forth. She can scoot backwards and rotate around in a circle.
• She moans while she eats solids. Just a constant moan. It's pretty funny.
• She blows raspberries all the time still. So cute.
