Some Idaho Falls & Richfield Adventures

Seriously though, after all we had been through and done over the past few weeks, I was plum tired all the time. 

Sophie on the other hand is wildly enjoying playing in Grandpa's backyard and jumping on the trampoline. She only requests to go out there five times a day.

 One night we went with the Engers to a Chukars game. It started sprinkling, then pouring on us for fifteen or twenty minutes. At least it felt that long. Sophie declared she wanted to go hide from the rain, but she stuck it out and thoroughly enjoyed her hot dog in the process.

 Then because we hadn't driven enough we drove down to Utah for the Jensen reunion. We hadn't been down in almost two years so we figured it was time for a trip. We got a hotel since grandma's house was full and it was a nice, quiet place of rest which I thoroughly enjoyed. Not to mention we finally got to sleep in a bed that fit both Daniel and me, plus Sophie when she woke up too early. P.S. Through all of this, Sophie unceremoniously transitioned to a big girl bed. It wasn't the fun, exciting change I love, but she's done really well and only rolls off her current bed occasionally. :)

In Richfield we ate at "the dairy" which is tradition. The next day was the reunion at Fish Lake. We drove Daniel's grandma which was nice because we were able to chat with her uninterrupted for a couple hours roundtrip. It's a lot harder to visit with her when everyone's kiddos are running around and everyone is talking over each other. She's a beautiful 90 years old and shared lots of fun stories with us on our drive. It got a little rainy on our reunion and everyone huddled under the canopies for forty-five minutes or so. Our canopy did a poor job of keeping us dry so the three of us ran for the car. The reunion was well attended, but we still only knew about 1/3 of the people. Daniel has a great extended family so it was nice to see all of them.

On the way home we stopped at Temple Square for a break. Daniel's mom's sister, Aunt Loretta, came and walked around with us. She looks so much like Daniel's mom it's almost unsettling. She is very sweet and kind though and it was nice to see her.

 Other things we've done since settling in Idaho Falls once more:

Sophie loves playing with her cousins. (I'm sure I've mentioned that already) One day she decided to dress up as Sophia the First, crown and all. She's such a darling little girly thing! Sophie also has decided that swings are amazing if someone gives you and underdog. Bella started all of this and now Sophie wants a dozen or 2 underdogs before she is remotely done on the swings. This is so odd considering not long ago she would hardly spend more than 15 seconds in a swing. Already mentioned as well, but Sophie is obsessed with picking raspberries and peas from Grandpa's garden. They have since stopped producing and she was seriously bummed about not being able to go eat in the garden.

While Marci was still visiting, we went to the zoo which is a favorite of Sophie's, played at the park, and walked the greenbelt. Stella and Sophie had a bit of a hard time getting along. Stella's just a little rough for Sophie, but they also had some great dance parties and had tons of fun "running" around the river.
